2016’ Christmas Around the World and Gala Parade Marshals

paraparadepara-156Josie Ayala was selected as the 2016’ Grand Parade Marshal. As a potential candidate her children told the committee their mom can’t say no !

Josie was born in Borger, Texas but was raised in Amberetta, Texas. Josie has eight children,16 grand children and three great grand children.

She diligently worked for the Collier County Public School System at Immokalee High school for 42 years.

Josie has volunteered for the community of Immokalee forever. She is a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She has helped at both elementary schools and at IHS for Project Graduation, been there for Pop Warner Football, local little leagues, Guadalupe Annual Church Carnvial and did an outstanding job with Relay for Life.

Josie represents the spirit of the Immokalee Indians, a mom, and involved community leader!

Derrick Dim as was selected as the 2016 Co-Parade Marshal for the Christmas Around the World Parade & Snow Gala and the 25th Birthday Celebration.

derrick-photo-2016Derrick was born in Naples and raised in Immokalee. Derrick is married to Angela Ramos and they have 5 children.

Since his graduation in 1997, he worked to complete his degree from ITT Tech with an AA in Networking Security Administration in 2016. Derrick has worked for the Collier County Parks & Recreation Department as a Supervisor for over 17 years. He likes the community of Immokalee and he always wants to put his best efforts out there.

For 24 of the 25 years, Park & Recreation has partnered with Immokalee’s Chamber of Commerce in hosting Christmas around the World Parade & Snow Gala. Derrick has been involved with all aspect of the Snow Gala at the Immokalee Sports Complex.

Derrick loves to fish and spending time with his family and friends. He totally believes when he’s not volunteering or working it’s fishing and more fishing.

Derrick is a soften spoken young man to all the kids he deals with on his present job, but he is very stern about safe playing, giving respect to others and fair play with the kids. He is well like and admired for continually giving back his services to the community of Immokalee.
