Taste of Immokalee students in collaboration with 1 by 1 Leadership Foundation and Naples United Church of Christ raised $10,000 for Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The students wanted the funds to go to an organization that was continuing to work on the unmet needs of the Immokalee community months after the hurricane hit. They identified that the Benison Distribution Center was in dire need of supplies so they awarded them the funds.

The Benison Center is a collaboration of the Immokalee Unmet Needs Coalition, the Immokalee Ministerial Alliance with the leadership of Bethel Assembly of God Church, 1 By 1 Leadership Foundation and a number of national organizations are providing truckloads of goods for the ongoing needs of the Immokalee community. Benison is open, not for individuals, but rather for churches and local organization like Pace Center for Girls and Redlands Christian Migrant Association to come and pick up supplies and then distribute to those who have specific needs.

If you would like to volunteer or are interested in donating to the center please contact Pastor Frank Rincon at or Pastor TW Mallory at
