Dreamcatchers Explore Lake Trafford

Florida Dreamcatchers, a 9-year comprehensive mentoring program, held their first “Dreamcatchers Day” at Lake Trafford on Saturday, November 3. With the support of five caring adult leaders, twenty 6th grade students learned about the Everglades and experienced Immokalee through the thrill of riding on an airboat. The students saw native birds, giant alligators and other swamp creatures while meeting new friends and having fun. The airboat tour was followed by lunch at the gazebo and team building activities. Florida Dreamcatchers Inc. helps build the aspirations of students growing up in Immokalee by expanding their horizons and surrounding them with a multi-layered support system that stretches over 9 years of their adolescence and beyond. For more information about the 6th grade program and opportunities to get involved, please contact us at (239) 238-3094 or visit our office at 1400 N. 15th Street, Immokalee (inside Florida Community Bank).
