It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the Immokalee Water & Sewer District – 2015 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR: Mr. Armando Reyes.

Mr. Reyes earned the employee of the year because of his hard work and educational achievements all year and we are very proud to have him as the 2015 Employee of the Year.

Armando Reyes was hired in October 2013 to work in our Wastewater Collection Department, as a Service Tech I. He currently holds the title of Service Tech III.

In that position, he inspects, maintains and repairs wastewater collection equipment and systems, including lift stations, pumps, sewer lines, service connections, manholes, installs sewer services, performs smoke testing, etc. He also performs maintenance of traffic functions in his department.

During the 2015 Fiscal Year, Mr. Reyes became certified as a Wastewater Collection Technician, “Class C” and as a result was promoted to a Service Tech II on March 25, 2015.

It was on August 14, 2015 that he received his Wastewater Collection Technician, “Class B” and was promoted to a Service Tech III.

During the year, he was also certified in Utility Maintenance Level II, and was certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. He also completed Beginning and Advanced Excel Classes.

His supervisor, Hector Ramos says, “Armando Reyes is a good employee that is eager to learn everything that the District and the Wastewater Collection Department has to offer. He is also involved in the community as a volunteer Little League Softball coach.”

Armando won the Employee of the Year by achieving the highest number of Employee of the Month points during the year; 320 points from October 2014 through September 2015.

In addition to his educational achievements, he also received points for not using vacation or sick time, and for being on time. During the last year Mr. Reyes received the Employee of the Month Award for August 2015.

In recognition of his outstanding achievements in being named 2015 EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR, Mr. Armando Reyes will receive eight hours off with pay, an Immokalee Water & Sewer District shirt, $50 in Winn Dixie gift certificates and the award from the Immokalee Water & Sewer District, along with our congratulations and heartfelt appreciation for a job well done.

First Bank joined in appreciation of this man’s hard work and dedication, recognizing him as a role model for not just the Water and Sewer District but the Immokalee community as a whole.

In addition, at the dinner, Mr. Bernardo Barnhart announced that Mr. Reyes would ride in a convertible in the Christmas Parade. Armanda Reyes appreciates Bernardo Barnhart for being a young and energetic role model to young men like himself.

Congratulations Armando Reyes for being the Employee of the Year!
