New business opening soon

Dr. Christina Calderon-Carrillo, and her sister, Dr. Patricia Calderon-Schwarz.

There are two Immokaleans who want to do good in their community and would like to invite the community to meet them and their business at a Grand Opening on Saturday, December 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

They are Dr. Christina Calderon-Carrillo, DOM, AP, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Physician of Acupuncture, Owner of True Care Community Acupuncture and Co-Owner of Gabriel’s House of Care and her sister, Dr. Patricia Calderon-Schwarz, PT, DPT, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Owner of Results Care Physical Therapy Pain and Wellness Center, Owner of The Oasis Spa and Co-Owner of Gabriel’s House of Care.

Their Mission in the community is to improve the health and well-being of the under-served, indigent and uninsured in the community of Immokalee.

They are two sisters in the health care industry who have served the communities of Southwest Florida for over 16 years. They were raised in Immokalee. Both thrived and graduated from Immokalee High School.

Their desire to give back to the community of Immokalee began at a very early age when their father Mr. Gabriel Calderon, through humble beginnings of a migrant farm worker, planted the seed of humility, hard work and advocacy

Through their dad’s mentorship, they learn to embrace a love for the community, the people, and their neighbors. Statistically, Immokalee ranks in the top ten of the poorest cities in Florida but it balances itself with being rich in multiculturalism, ethnic diversity and a true sense of “community”.

To sum things up their story highlights their desire to give back to the community of Immokalee through the efforts of their faith based, non-profit organization named Gabriel’s House of Care.

Their aim is to help the community with the high rising cost of health care by offering services based on a low cost, sliding scale payment system. In doing so, they will help as many people as possible overcome their ailments and ultimately improving their lives.

The Grand Opening will begin at 4 p.m, with a ribbon cutting at the Immokalee Chamber of Commerce, 1255 N 15th ST STE 3. The opening prayer will be given by Nerlynn Etienne, guest speakers at the event include Dr. Phil Phillips, and Mark Lemke. Entertainment will be provided by Lenze Dalusma a renown poet.
